About Myself
I was born in Hartlepool in the early 1940's and work as an engineering designer. I have shot arrows at target. clout, field and flight archery with a recurve, compound and flight bows I have had some success at clout and flight.
I came into shooting in my forties and have been shooting over fifteen years all year round until last winter.
I have been an active sportsman all my life and tried many sports Rugby being my favourite, prior to Archery. I always felt that if one enjoyed an activity one should try to put back into it more than you got out so when injury stopped me playing rugby, I coached, but further injury stopped that too so I looked for an outdoor persuit..
Having been drawn into shooting by my son and passed my first bow I thought I would make a "few" notes to remind me of the names and terms and techniques in an old blue notebook with a few sketches here and there, and Guess What? other archers would ask me for pointers and the book grew thicker and thicker and so did an Idea, Why not Write an Archery Book/Encyclopeadia?
So here it is! in an easy to use and read (I Hope!) web presentation, some advice don't read it from front to back just pick the Letter. Word or Expression and read that. I hope it Helps your Shooting.
I would like you to join me and give something back, so if you see an error, or can improve any point please feed it back and we will all have shared in "putting a bit back".
Good Shooting.
